How to set a fitness goal that you’ll achieve
Whatever your fitness goals are you have to make sure you make them concrete. Having a goal of “lose some weight” is vague and not solid (like concrete). Setting a goal of “lose 10 lbs” is better but not great. There is still too much room for it to get put off. “Lose 10 lbs by my birthday” is fantastic! It’s clear, concise and has a deadline.
If your goal is performance related maybe you choose something like “run 12 miles a week” or “bench press my body weight by the end of summer” etc. This gives you something to be excited about and a timeline to work within with a definite finish line.
Steps to set a goal:
- Decide what you want
- How far do you want to take it? (make it a quantifiable goal)
- Give it a time deadline
Give it a shot. It will supercharge your motivation and keep you focused.
What’s your goal??
